About Pivotal

Pivotal (formerly Opener) is a Palo Alto, California eVTOL company building Helix — a single-seat, eight-rotor, lift-and-cruise eVTOL flown under the US FAA’s Part 103 ultralight category. Because Part 103 does not require a pilot’s certificate or aircraft type certification, Pivotal is one of the few eVTOL programmes already shipping aircraft to paying customers.

The company is backed by Google co-founder Larry Page and rebranded from Opener to Pivotal in early 2024 alongside the launch of the Helix product.
