Dubai International to Palm Jumeirah
Likely to be the first commercial eVTOL passenger route in the world, flying from a purpose-built vertiport at DXB.
Dubai is where eVTOL passenger service is most likely to begin. Joby holds a six-year exclusivity agreement with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and has built a dedicated vertiport at Dubai International Airport, the first purpose-built eVTOL facility of its kind.
The run out to Palm Jumeirah is about 19 miles and takes 45 minutes or more by road in traffic. By air it is roughly 10 to 12 minutes.
Dubai has advantages no US or European city can match: a single regulator aligned with government policy, no meaningful community noise opposition, new infrastructure built to order, and a customer base already accustomed to paying for helicopter transfers.
